Christmas Customs
1: Decorating the Christmas Tree
The custom of Christmas trees comes from Germany, which is made by cutting down some evergreen trees. Trees with
towering branches and leaves such as cedar and pine are often used. Usually, trees are decorated with gold and silver strips,
canes, apples, small gifts, etc. The apple symbolizes the abundant resources of the Garden of Eden, the gift symbolizes the
dedication of the Eastern Doctor to Jesus, the cane on the Christmas tree is the shepherd's cane, and the inverted cane,
resembling the initials of Jesus' name, also symbolizes Jesus. The silver ribbons on the Christmas tree symbolize holiness,
while the gold ribbons symbolize glory. The bow symbolizes the close connection between humans and gods, who will always
love humanity.
2: Exchange Christmas cards and letters
On Christmas Day, Christmas cards are sent to express longing for distant relatives and friends. Christmas cards usually
have pictures of the Christmas period, such as snow scenes, snowmen, Santa Claus, and reindeer. There are also some greeting

3: Giving gifts to family and friends
This tradition originated when three Eastern doctors sent gifts to Jesus at his birth. Therefore, every Christmas, family and
friends exchange gifts. The legend of Santa Claus giving gifts also stems from this story. Legend has it that on December 24th
every year, Santa Claus drives a sled pulled by reindeer to give gifts to various households.
